The hotel is located in the Putri Hill area. There are other hotels in the area which are all beautiful. My hotel has fifty rooms. Ten rooms are luxurious. The rooms are the air conditioner and there is a colour TV in each room. The other forty are business rooms. It means the rooms are simple, with fans and black-and-white TVs. In the luxurious rooms there are always double beds but in the simple rooms only some have double beds. Our guests come and check in or check out at the receptionist's desk. These people also help the guests with their needs.
They can order food and the receptionists ask our restaurant to serve them. Guests can have breakfast, lunch or dinner in the room or in the restaurant. Room service is ready with orders. The receptionist can also help guests with their laundry. The laundry woman will wash and iron the clothes. The room-keepers clean all the rooms every day. Look! Some guests are coming. The bellboys help guests with their bags. They will have a seminar tomorrow. It is in the convention hall. I'll ask them to sit at the lounge.

Trees
Tree is largest of all plants. The tallest tree grow over 61 meters in height. Many trees also live longer than other plants. Some trees live for thousands of year. They are the oldest living things that man knows. People think that trees are different from other plants. Most of other plants grow only for a short time and then die. People think of trees as a permanent part of the landscape. Trees continue to grow as long as they live. The grow new leaves and flowers. Leaves of a tree make food. The food keeps the tree alive and helps it grow.
The flowers grow into fruits. The fruit contains seeds for marking new trees. Trees are different from other plants like herbs and shrubs. Most trees grow at least 4.6 to 6.1 meters, but herbs and shurbs are much shorter than trees.
Trees have one woody stem, which is called a trunk. Herbs have soft and juicy stems. Shrubs are likes trees, they have woody stem, but most shurbs have more than one stem and none of the stems of the shrubs grows so thick or tall as a tree trunk. There are thousands of kinds of trees. But most trees belong to one of two main groups. They are broadleaf trees and needle leaf trees. These two types of trees grow in many parts of the world. Most other types of trees, such as palms and tree ferns, grow mainly warm regions.

Life In The City And The Village
Many people like to live in a city although is is often very crowded. There are many jobs available. Therefore, it is easier to plan for a living. There are also more opportunities for education and recreation. If people are sick, there is always hospital or a clinic nearby. There are markets, supermarkets or departement stores that people can choose to go shooping. In addition, all means of transportation are available. People can go by bus, taxi, train or plane. For these reasons people prefer living in a city to a village.
Some other people prefer living in a village to a city. A village is not very crowded and noisy. People do not have to rush to work. They may to whatever they want. They do not have to got to school for a long period of time. They go to Eelementary School just to be able to read and write. This is enough for them to survive. They so not care much about time. Today and tomorrow are just the same for them. Living naturally like this is enjoyable for them.
However, not every villager enjoys the natural life. Some of them find that rural life is quite backward. They want to improve their lives. They move to big cities to start a new life. Of course, some of them are successful, but many of them are not. For those who are not successful living in a big city like Jakarta is really terrible. They are jobless and homeless because they do not have skills needed in urban areas. They live in the slums of the city.

Newspaper And Magazines
The printed words in newspaper and magazines have become an important part of people's lives. People in the cities, towns and villages want information. Newspapers provide them news on the goverment, crime, gossip, entertainment and sports. Besides these there are the advertisements for products, films and concerts. Then there is the classified section which gives new of jobs, services and things for sale.
The production of newspapers and magazines is very hard work. The journalist write the articles. The editors decide on the headlines and the news layout. They decide which news must be put on the first page and which news can be left inside the paper. They edit and fit it into pages. Then all the pages are put together and the managing editor approves the papers before publication.
